Website Review

“I found Sarah via Linkedin and was somewhat drawn to her humour. The process to hire her was painless and transparent. Within days I had a detailed website report highlighting the good and the bad.”

Is your website a bit of a horror show?

If it is, it’s not doing your business any favours.

It should be visible and working hard at attracting your audience. And it should be clear who that audience is.

Design

First impressions count.

If your site looks dated and uses a theme that hasn’t been refreshed since the 90s, that tells your visitor all they need to know about your brand.

Here are the things I’m looking at:

  • Branding
  • Consistency
  • Fonts
  • Site template
  • Images

User experience (UX)

Google has made UX king in its core update.

If your sites’ functionality is that of a wonky shopping trolley, you’ve got problems.

Here are the things I’m looking at:

  • Layout
  • Access to information/products/services
  • CTAs
  • Loading times
  • Interactivity
  • Page stability
  • Use of pop-ups
  • Mobile optimisation

Content

Content is still a big deal, that is unlikely to change.

If your website is littered with typos, that will make people leave your site quicker than you can say “god-awful homepage”.

Here are the things I’m looking at:

  • Tone
  • Language style
  • Audience focused copy
  • Keyword usage
  • Grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Quality of content
  • Mixed media used

Other points

  • Blog and blog sign-up
  • SSL certificate
  • GDPR compliant
  • Privacy policy
  • Terms of service
  • Customisations
  • Permalink structures
  • Meta title tags and descriptions
  • SEO image titles
  • Link building

You’ll get a detailed report of my assessment and recommendations.

Outcome

You’ll be armed with the knowledge to make your site better for the people you built it for – your target customer. And that means they’ll stick around long enough to do something, like buy from you.
